Sales and marketing is a fast paced industry to work in. We asked our Key Account, Customer and Category members: “When you want to know something, what do you do?“. This confirmed what we already know about modern professional learning : it’s done on the job, online and on trade visits.
Everybody (98%) asks somebody for help or advice: a manager, mentor, colleague or peer. More than two thirds (68%) complete personal online learning and research: read expert articles, case studies and insights. Almost two thirds (61%) collaborate to try new things, go on trade visits, ask questions and develop insights – away from their desks!
Conversely, only one in three (35%) utilise company training programme materials, resources or process manuals when they want to know something!
